Categories of FRC:
You can apply for an FRC under the following four categories:
- By Birth: Includes details of your parents and siblings.
- By Marriage: Includes details of your spouse and children.
- By Adoption: Includes details of your guardian and adopted family members.
- By All: Includes details of both alpha and beta family members.
To be eligible for a FRC, all family members should be registered with NADRA and have a valid 13-digit identification number. However, unregistered deceased and alive (in certain scenarios) individuals can also be included. Particulars of such family members are mentioned as per information provided by the applicant.
How to Apply for FRC:
FRC can be applied through two methods:
- NADRA Registration Center (NRC):
Visit the nearest NRC and follow these steps:
- Obtain a token
- Biometric Verification.
- Photographs of minors will be taken. (If CRC is issued without Photo).
- Data will be downloaded and reviewed.
- Fee submission. (For "By Birth, By Marriage and By Adoption" categories: Rs 1000/- each and for "By All" category Rs. 2000/-)
- FRC will be printed and handed over.
2. Pak Identity Mobile App:
FRC can be applied online through the Pak ID Mobile App and the same will be delivered digitally in Mobile App. This is a convenient option that allows citizens to apply from anywhere.

Step-by-Step Guide to apply via Pak ID Mobile App:
- Log in to your Pak ID account or create a new account if you don’t have one.
- On “Home” page, go to “Family” and select “FRC”.
- Family Members Detail will appear.
- Records highlighted in red require correction in relevant fields of data.
- Any of the following will be selected as per requirement: -
- By Birth
- By Marriage
- By Adoption
- By All
- Review and submit the application.
- Fee submission.
FRC will be downloaded (PDF) & appeared in ID Vault upon completion of the processing period.
Processing Time & Delivery:
- Through NRC: FRC will be issued in real-time.
- Through Pak Identity: A PDF version will be available for download / print within 24 hours.
Requirements for FRC:
- 13-digit ID number of the applicant (CRC/CNIC/NICOP/POC).
Important Notes:
- If children are below 18 years of age and CRC is issued without photo, they must be physically present.
- Incomplete records will not appear in the FRC. Such records will be included after updating.
- If a POC holder does not exist in the family, he must apply and include other members as relatives.
- If a family member is deceased, his / her CNIC must be canceled by providing Death Certificate (issued by Union Council / Municipal Corporation / Cantonment) before processing of FRC.
- You can only correct English name spellings during processing of FRC; name change is not allowed.

The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is an official document that verifies the family composition as recorded in NADRA's database as well as un-registered members with deceased / alive status. It is primarily used for embassy-related matters, various legal / official purposes and serves as a legal document.
